Consultant of the Month- Bruce, the engineer extraordinaire and family man

BruceBruce grew up in small town Wilson Borough, Pennsylvania. So small that Bruce joked, “Even many locals have never heard of it!” Keeping his head in the books, he went on to graduate from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, followed by a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University.

Through Crescent, Bruce has been working at a Fortune 500 company specializing in innovative semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications. “Bruce has been a consultant of ours for nearly 3 years and you couldn’t ask for a better person to work with!” says Recruiting Manager, Laura Cooper. “He has never been anything short of completely professional and personable.” As a Sr. Staff Engineer, he works in Design Verification Testing (DVT) for embedded Wireless LAN devices that go in cell phones and hand held controllers. “He fit in seamlessly,” Laura adds, “and has been making great strides on his company’s hardware verification team ever since. Working with Bruce has been a great partnership, and we’re proud to have him on our team!”

Happily married for 18 years, his wife, Cynthia, teaches Pre-K while his 2 sons, McKay and Joseph, are wrapped up in high school life.  “McKay is a junior who loves to play soccer (both on the field and on Xbox) and is learning to drive.  Joseph is a freshman who plays percussion in the band, is learning French, and loves to cook,” Bruce shared proudly. Both sons are active Boy Scouts, close to earning their Eagle rank, with Bruce and wife Cynthia serving as Assistant Scoutmasters for their troop. Despite this taking up much of their free time, they still sneak in a few hours to root for their local teams (SF Giants, 49ers, and San Jose Earthquakes), raise a pet chinchilla named Nacho, and keep the family tradition of sushi dinner for birthdays.

A glimpse into his perfect family weekend, “We would drive up the coast past Santa Cruz to Pescadero, stopping on the way at Swanton Farms for chocolate truffles, Harley Farms for goat cheese, and Arcangeli Grocery for fresh baked garlic and herb bread. We would then park at the beach for a picnic, tide-pooling, and digging in the sand until the sun sets over the ocean.” Sounds like heaven to us!
