Hitting it off right from the start, it didn’t take long for Rich Kahn, Division Manager for Crescent Solutions, to find a perfect place for Gerard’s talents. “I first met with Rich 8 months ago,” says Gerard. “I found him to be both personable and professional.” Echoing those sentiments, Rich picked up on his level of expertise from the very first conversation. “Other than being the utmost professional, he’s also been a great resource for me to learn more about technology and what’s going on behind the scenes,” says Rich.
Currently working as a Hyperion Developer, “he’s already far exceeded our client’s expectations on the job,” says Rich. “I’ve been working in the Oracle Hyperion EPM area for about 15 years now,” says Gerard. “I’ve worked on projects in both the US and in Europe.” Based on his years of experience, it’s clear to see why it was so easy to quickly place him.
Simultaneously, Gerard has been with Gibney Consulting for the past 14 years. “Gibney Consulting is a company that specializes in developing and supporting business analytics applications,” Gerard informs me. “I’m the director of Business Analytics. My role involves developing and supporting multiple clients’ Hyperion EPM applications such as Essbase and Hyperion Planning.”
Outside of his hectic work life, the Dublin, Ireland native is a diehard Irish Rugby fanatic. He loves the outdoors and enjoys biking, running, swimming, and paddle boarding. Though he’s known for listening to a wide array of music, he is very specific about his culinary preference. “I love Asian food,” says Gerard. “In particular Dim Sum and Sushi.” While he admits to having a dry sense of humor, his warm and fun-loving personality comes out when speaking about his family. In fact, his favorite weekends are spent hanging out with his wife and kids. “My daughter is 5 and her name is Edel, and my son is 10 months and his name is Eoin,” Gerard says beaming with pride. This man may love his day job, but he’s even more in love with his lifetime role of doting father and husband.
