The Egyptian-raised Solution Architect has been with Crescent since 2011. After meeting with Recruiting Partner Rick Grandy for only 10 minutes, there was a “feeling of mutual trust and co-operation, and within two days I got my first engagement.” Growing up in Cairo, he attended Cairo University, receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. Initially, he actively put his degree to use, working as a mechanical engineer in a power station. Eventually, “I shifted my career toward computer software and systems, in both academia and industry.”
His work ethic is well- known, “Ragae consistently exceeds our clients’ expectations which sets himself apart from other consultants we work with” says Grandy. He’s the first to admit that he is in love with his work. So much so that it’s even rubbed off on his oldest son. “My elder, Raymond, is a clone of my career. I don’t know why? It’s his choice!” Pride showing through his humble nature, he goes on to speak about his other 3 children. His second son, Rudy, is a car designer and father of 2 boys, Jacob, and Nathan, while his daughter Laura is soon to become a dentist, and his youngest, Lillian, is on her way to Med school.
Quite the food enthusiast, if he was forced to chose 3 favorites they would be Italian, Thai, and of course, Egyptian. “Usually homemade!” he adds. In his down time, you can catch him at the opera, at home listening to either classical music or his favorite band- The Who, watching the Sacramento Kings game, or teaching himself new technologies/methods in his field. He also loves to travel, learn different languages, and of course, spend time with his kids and grandkids. Due to his heads-down hardworking nature, he is often perceived as a serious person, but never judge a book by its cover. “Once we start talking, things change, and the ‘serious’ ideas melt down,” Ragae says. “My motto in life is striving toward ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”
