After 12 years as a Business Analyst for Bank of America, wide sweeping layoffs sidelined Tahra. After searching for work on her own, Crescent’s Heath Hamaguchi came across her resume and quickly recognized immense potential. “He seemed very motivated to get me into a position at Bank of America again.” And he did just that. A few months later Tahra was back at Bank of America as a Business Analyst in Control and Monitoring for Small Business Credit Cards. “She is passionate about her work and we are extremely proud of her,” says Brian Batistic, Division Director at Crescent Solutions. “Tahra represents Crescent well.”
The oldest of 5 children, Tahra was born and raised in Arizona. “We lived in Indianapolis, Indiana for a year when I was in 7th grade, but after some begging and pleading, my mom moved our family back to Phoenix.” Thanks to her intelligence and drive, she became a member of the Achieving a College Education Program (ACE) and simultaneously attended Central High School and South Mountain Community College.
A true Virgo, she is analytical by nature, though admits to working on being more spontaneous. “I’ve been trying to make time to travel throughout my region. I spent time in northern Arizona at a cabin with the family, visited Vegas a few times, Colorado, and California.”
As a native Phoenician she is both a Phoenix Suns and Cardinals fan, “We will get a championship next season!” she confidently exclaims. Other than rooting for the home teams, she loves spending time with her son, playing basketball, drawing, watching movies, photographing nature, and enjoying quality time with family and friends. During cooler months you may see her hiking or playing in the park and during warmer months, you can catch her by the pool or anywhere there is air conditioning.
Tahra and her boyfriend of 7 ½ years love watching their son grow. “He is the center of our world,” says Tahra, beaming with pride. “He will be in the 3rd grade next year and is starting karate and swimming this summer. He even received the Principles List and Terrific Kid awards on the last day of school!” They constantly give him encouragement and support while stressing the importance of education. “I wasn’t able to complete college, although I am only a few credits shy, but we work hard to make sure he stays focused and receives his degree. He already plans to be a doctor, a lawyer, a basketball player, an astronaut, and an artist…so look out world!”
